Sorry for some reason I can't reply there.
IMO I think if some forums that people discuss more sensitive issues were private that would be fine and maybe it would make it more comfortable for people to be more open. Overall I say not private, as so many people look for support via search engines and just "stumble" across us. I know too, that lots of people just like to read for a bit until they are comfortable enough to post something, and I would not like to think that they would become discouraged and move on without finding the support they need.
