Ive been asking around everywhere for info on Susanville but havent really got anywhere. Im sure there's someone out there to give me info about this prison. My man just got transferred there from quentin and I want to go see him, send him stuff etc. So anyone please help me out and give me info on this place it will be appreciated. Thank You so much Cali Sunshine. Ive looked everywhere for any kind of info on this prison and your the only one who has replyed. Ive looked into the cdc site and am going to call tomarrow. Hey Girl friend

I will relay what I know. My Son was there his 1st term. He was there 2 years ago. He first went to the regular yard. Then after a while he was transferred to arnold unit for his training. He was there 1 1/2 weeks and was transferred back to the regular yard 3 weeks and transferred back to arnold unit, He then began his training. He finished that and about 2 or 2 to 3 weeks later he was transferred to Devils Garden Conservation Camp. He really liked it. I visited him while at susanville. The visits start around 8 or 8:30 am sat and sun and end at 2:45 I think. They also allowed friday evening visiting cant remember the specifics on that. The visiting process was real simple. They were not to picky on attire The visiting staff were all pleasent. The packages I beleive have changed like all of Ca. Used to be abl to send your own package, think you have to order the packages from the new companies All the mail he wants I belive only 10 pictures to each letter. Money is best sent from a postal money order. I belive he can have magazine subscriptions. Once he went to the fire camp I never visited I became ill. Also it was even further away. Most of all he was always gone on fires all over Ca. He made the best money available I belive for work in Ca Prisons. For every day he did he got 2 days of good time earlier on his release. You never know when the will be gone can happen in a second. Also remember not everyone who gets sent to either susanville or Jamestown the 2 training Prissons for fire fighting get to necissarly go to a fire camp or through training. There were alot that just ended up doing there time on mainline at Susanville. My Son did well in all aspectss at Susanville.
