I have finally found a friend that I have been searching for for years. He was just transfered from Lawrenceville to Lunenburg. I cant receive collect calls, because I only have a cell phone. Can someone tell me what the institution is like? What are the visitation procedures? Are there contact visits? Is it in a large room with many people? What are the mail restrictions? Can I send books, magazines, money or photos? Any information on this institution will be helpful. I drove all the way from Maryland to surprise him at Lawrenceville and was told that I had to change because I couldnt wear jeans. And was also informed that he was transfered to Lunenburg the day before. Not to mention that I had to stay in a hotel room overnight in Richmond because my car broke down. Three and a half hours of driving and $350 to be dissappointed.

Make sure to bring extra clothes with you. It's the only way to be safe regardless. My mother now works at lunenburg and it is contact visiting. I think the hours are from 9am-2pm...something like that. I dont think you can have any piercings and your allowed to wear a wedding band and maybe earring studs. But it's basically a large room with many people. But let me tell you, thats much better than seeing glass and trying to hear or speak through a speaker system that doesnt work! Besides Lunenburg is either level 3 or 4 so you should feel safe. They actually just went on lock down for awhile. Somehow they were finding cellphones...I'd like to know how they manage that lol. Good luck!

My baby is in Lunenburg, it is a pretty nice facility. The visiting is in a big room, outside or in the gym. My baby and I always are outside. They will let you take your quarters in in your pockets if you don't have a plastic bag, and there is a change machine there so you don't have to rack your brain trying to get quarters before you go. For the most part the C/O's are nice, I have never had a problem with any of them and I have been there so much they know me by my first name. As far as clothes goes for visits, I have seen a variety of things, from low cut shirts to tight pants. I always wear sweats or jeans so I can be comfortable, because when I get there I know I will be there for a while. I have sent my baby pictures, and nothing has ever been returned. I will only put 5 pictures in an envelope, (better to be safe than sorry), and as far as money, I usually use JPay, but if I send him money orders, I will get it from the post office. you can pm me with any other questions.
