Does anyone have any experiences sending books to inmates in San Quentin? My penpal is on DR and I want to send him a book that he's interested in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Books must come from a recognized seller (for example, Amazon, Barnes, Walden (or your a local book seller with its own packaging), in their packaging.)) This the prison officials believe, keeps contraband from coming into the system. There was no lilmit on number of books and number of packages of books monthly when I was there, but there may be a one book per package limit in DR. IceBlueSparkle 12-11-2004, 04:05 AM The books MUST be soft cover :) I send books from time to time...my loved one is also on deathrow at SQ. I usually send them through amazon....as they offer free shipping over $25. Although you can send them from pretty much ANY company...as long as the books are new...and they are sent in commercial type packaging. You can send more than one book at a time. I do believe there is a limit on the number of books they can have at any one time...too much paper in their cell is considered a fire hazard...Last time I sent books I sent three at once and he got them all :) |
