I have no problem with Martha Stewart. As a matter of fact, I subscribe to her magazine and have a couple of her cookbooks. But I think time would be better spent corresponding with someone who needs a friend or two. Just my opinion. BSS 10-18-2004, 04:31 PM Thank you for your thoughts:) my thoughts are the more people we can get to talk about PTO the better chance we will have of making changes in the system. Martha would be an ideal person to spread the word. IMO poni'swoman 10-18-2004, 04:46 PM From the interviews I've seen of Martha I don't think she is going to become a prison activist. But I've been wrong many, many, many times before. She could certainly do a lot of good if she chose to. Retired-10 10-18-2004, 05:01 PM I am in total agreement with poniswoman. I support Martha and her attititude towards having to go to prison but if you're going to write anyone, write to someone who isn't receiving an ounce of mail...or better yet, someone from PTO who is probably in prison speaking PTO's praises! Martha has already complained about the amount of mail she's receiving and the ridiculous things she's being sent... I doubt she'd want her address publicized on a prison website... Cinammo 10-18-2004, 05:24 PM Thanks for the address! titantoo 10-19-2004, 12:55 AM Martha Stewart...my 2 cents worth For those who want to mail MS...good luck to them. For those who think it is better to write to those who need mail more badly than she does...I agree (I have yet to do this but expect to soon...unfortunately I would prefer to write to a female in the first instance...I am male...but many more males seem to need correspondants than females ... I am happily married so am not looking for more than to help somebody less fortunate than me to pass the time) For those who think MS can really help the cause ...I know she can and I sincerely hope she does. She has the opportunity to make much more impact than any of us can. |
