Does anyone know what are the procedures for visiting someone in susanville? What can I wear Do I have to call before going ?

These visiting procedures in this link were updated May 2003 so there may be newer info I'm not sure but there is a lot of helpful info here

I don't believe you have to call before going if he is in general Population however if he is in seg or another type of disciplanary unit you would have to make an appt.

it is safe to say i know EVERYTHING about visiting in Susanville. I have been visiting my husband there for over two years. even got married there in april. When i started i didnt know anything and now i am amazed at what i know. but i found out the hard way. trial and error. so if you have any questions about anything pm me or email me. they have a # to call, its good to call before you go up there and litsen to the recording, make sure they are not on lockdown. call 1800-374-8474 and follow the prompt. its all a recording. dress code varies but usuallly they stick to their rules about it. no tank tops, short skirts, short tops. everything has to be covered. let me know anything you need help with. id be glad to help!

I want to know when visting susanville is the visit all day or just for one hour?
Is it behind glass or in a room ?

The visiting is from 8 to 2:30pm but you probably wont get in until 9 - 10 depends on what # you are. it is also in a room and then they open the doors. I just went to my first visit last weekend. it all went well everyone on here gave me all the info i needed and helped me a whole lot because i went up there with no transportation.

Are you visiting High Desert or CCC? Both are in Susanville and the rules are different....

My Whateverheis is now at High Desert and I know NOTHING....so, what she said ;)
Are jeans okay? What about sandals? As of two days ago, they were on LD, but that seems to mean that there are still visits through glass, just no contact visits...any info will help...He's in Bravo, if it matters

No BLUE jeans, any type, any shade of blue. My daughter was ousted for baby blue cords, so be careful of blue in any form. Black jeans are ok, if they are VERY black and not faede. Green, yellow, pink whatever, is ok. Sandles are safe with backs, no flip flops, although I've seen them go both ways, better safe than wearing someone elses shoes...yeccch! Glass visits require an appointment, call and check, I think it's no visits at all for those who would normally get contact visits.

HI THE FIRST THING YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE IS APPROVAL.
CCC WILL SEND YOU A LETTER OF APPROVAL IN THE MAIL ITS ON A BLUE PIECE OF PAPER. THE INMATE NEEDS TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY SIGN THE VISTING QUESTIONARE THAT THEY SEND YOU. CCC WILL NOT LET YOU IN WITHOUT THESE ITEMS. I KNOW BECAUSE I JUST WENT THIS PAST WEEKEND AND I COULDN'T SEE HIM DUE TO HE DIDN'T SIGN THE FORM.
THE DRESS CODE IS VERY STRICT PANTS AND A SHORT SLEEVE SHIRT, NOTHING DENIM AND OR SEE THROUGH. THE COOL THING IS THERE IS A LITTLE HOUSE BEFORE YOU GO IN THAT WILL DONATE YOU CLOTHES.
ONE MORE THING IF YOU NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT VISITING YOU CAN THE MAIN NUMBER TUES AND THURS FROM 1-4 AND TALK TO A LIVE PERSON. MAKE SURE BEFORE YOU GO THAT YOU ARE APPROVED THEY WILL NOT LET YOU IN.
