I need help. We were hit with a major sexual misconduct ticket and my husband is supposed to go to the parole board in a month. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If you know how we can minimize the damage from this ticket please HELP!!!! I could also loose my visiting privileges for anywhere from 90 days to for the rest of his bit, with review possible in a year. So any help would be greatly apprecited!
Sarabre,
I am so sorry to hear this. What state is this in?
Mmhhh, this sucks. I don't know much about major sexual misconduct tickets. I do know that my boyfriend was hit with a major misconduct ticket for "acts of corruption", and was returned to Egeler (from his camp program he was in) and was given until September until his next parole hearing. (he was supposed to be paroled in Feb) I don't know what to do "fight" these tickets or whatever. Can you even do that? (I was also "involved" in my boyfriend's ticket) I hope someone comes along and helps you out with this. My boyfriend and I are in Michigan also, and it seems to me that they hand out these tickets like their handing out condoms at a free clinic. We have alot of Michiganders here, so I am sure someone will be able to help you ALOT more then I can. Good luck!

Sarabe--I'm sorry, I can't think of anything to help, except to remind your sweetie to admit everything (even if they wrote it up wrong--they'll never believe his side of the story anyway) and take full responsibility for it. Maybe if they give him the chance to explain and he shows remorse they'll look past it, especially if his original offense wasn't a csc. If he IS in for a csc, he could check and see if there are self-help classes like Sex Addicts Anonymous available where he's at, and start attending those? I wish you both the best. Also, you might get better ideas if you post in one of the general forums, since there are members from other states who've worked in the system; I'm sure they'd help you out with better ideas.
Jeni--I've read your story in another post of yours and I can't believe they called that a major act of corruption!!! What world do they live in that THAT is how they define corruption..............does Robert tease you now about how you've corrupted him?

where in muskegon? lee is in earnest.......best of luck
Sarabe,
As I'm writing this I'm wondering if I know who this is and if this is from Saturday....in Muskegon. This is Deb--Bill's wife if it's who I think it is....private message--pm me--just click on the bottom of the post where it says pm after my post.
Regardless if it is or not--you can fight this and I have seen inmates and their partner's win. You need to get an outside lawyer who can get the tape subpeoned. If they have no tape the lawyer you get can also use that information. This lawyer CAN be present during the hearing/s on the ticket.
To accept this is to possibly lose your visits for good. It will also be on his record which we all know will hurt parole. I have seen 2 other couples at Muskegon alone win these kind of tickets when they get an outside attorney and have them fight it and be present.
