View Full Version : My house is not my house!
babieboo 10-15-2004, 01:40 PM My cats have taken over my house!!! I work 8 hours and in between that time they turn my apartment over. I came home yesterday and the cabinets were open, the fan was on the ground, and my side table was knocked over. This is not the first time it has happened. Also my baby kitty has an obsession with hair scrunchies and he takes them and hides them from me. Do your cats do this or do I just have some bad cats?
meadow22 10-15-2004, 01:43 PM LOL LOL i'm sorry to laugh, but that's funny. i dont have any cats, just a little doggy so i cant offer you any advice. it would be annoying if it was my cats and this is what they did every day, but i just can't believe how smart animals really are :)
rottn 10-16-2004, 08:31 AM A friend of mine just got a cat so her dog wouldn't be lonely. This cat is straight from the bowels of hell. Her house was ripped from one end to the other. She puts the cat and all his stuff in the bathroom when she goes to work, he can't get to too much in there. All she has to do is hide the toilet paper and put it back at the end of the day. Cats are easier to manage than dogs in this way, they go in a litter box and if their confined, not really alot to worry about accident wise. It's hard the first couple of times, but it saves the house. Good luck to you on this one!!
lonelyliz 10-22-2004, 11:38 AM When my cats were young they somehow got the fridge open and ate 4 pounds of raw chicken, then knocked about 6 glasses off the counter and broke them all. It's normal!
SailorMoon 10-22-2004, 11:48 AM My cats are good about ripping up the paper towels and toliet paper, and knocking clothes down that are hanging. They've knocked over the fish bowl a few times, had to block it off finally. However, I had one cat that would knock the Christmas tree over daily. Every day we would come home and find it on the floor. I finally ended up wiring it to the wall!!! Just like it was normal to wire you tree to three walls to keep it standing!! Some are more mischievious than others.
Crissymn 10-22-2004, 12:14 PM My one cat always figured out how to open the cabinets and would get into cat food or thoose foil chicken and tuna packages you can get! he also love tissuse and toliet paper and insited on knocking candles down. He was a pain but so cute!!!
babieboo 11-12-2004, 02:52 PM Oh gosh this is so disgusting. Yesterday as I was getting ready for work, I cleaned the liter box on my way out and was doing the regular clean up duties before I leave. Well after I had a few extra minutes to spare so I sat down and pet the cats. Well when I got up to leave I noticed a really foul poop smell...I mean it smelt like it was right under my noise :yuck: ! So I started sniffing all around and sniffing my clothes to see if any had got on me...turns out one of the cats had pooh on their butts and when I picked them up when I was petting them it got on me. One of the cats backed up on me and put it on me!!! So gross!! I almost passed out.

I have had the "poop experience" too. YUCK. But since my cats are geriatric, they are pretty harmless. Actually, my old guy (17) just died and now I have this 21 year old girl. She is very well behaved and proper, never would do anything "wrong". But she is older than the hills and gets confused pretty easily. She thinks EVERYTHING is food. I mean I wake up at night and she is pulling out my hair and eating it-- and no, she's not just grooming me, she is really intense about the whole thing!!!!! She also eats paper, dust bunnies, toilet paper etc. The poor thing chews in her sleep! (Incidentally I DO feed her!)
Anyway, I was thinking about getting a kitten for my son, but you guys are scaring me!!!!!
haswtch 11-12-2004, 05:50 PM I shouldn't laugh, but just wait till you have kids! Poop...wierd edibles...the whole nine

I honestly do not mean to laugh, but this is kind of funny. Ok, my best friend and I live together and have two kittens/cats...they're growing up! They're rambunctious, but they haven't made a mess of our apartment like that yet. Your cats just need to learn how to settle down a little, and you need to keep things out of the way, it's hard becuase they're cats, but try. They'll learn to keep it cool, don't worry! We taught our cats to not bite and nip and they cooled down a lot. I hope it all gets better for you!
