welcome to pto, go to the new york threads - i am sure some one there will be able to help you, they would know how ny works, have you tried to go online to ny department of correction ? there site may let you do a inmate search and tell you where your brother is. il. and in. both have those i think all states have them except ca, you have to call a number, check it out if you can't do a inmate search there might be a number you call and find out best of luck - chicago
