Anyone heard of a minimum in Wisconsin called Columbia County Correctional Center? My guy is going to be moved, and he was told this was one of the options. I told him he was nuts :D as there is no such place listed on the DOC's website. On the other hand, it's not like the DOC's NEVER been wrong before :D !

Anybody know what he's talking about? Where this is?

There isn't a columbia county correctional center or a columbia correctional center. The only thing I can think of is if there was a minimum barracks at Columbia Correctional Institution. I don't know whether or not they have a minimum barracks.

There IS a Columbia County Prison, It's where Jeffery Dahlmer was kept. It is in Portage, Wisconsin near the dells. It's a fairly new prison also.

I hear that isn't a nice place to go and it is maximum? Speaking of mimimum, does anyone know if Thompson in Deerfield is a lot better than Oak Hill in Oregon?

Yes, Thompson is 1000% better than Oakhill! No metal detectors, nice guards, no fences, the guys get real jobs to earn real money. They even have 2 kitty cats that run around!

You're probably talking about Columbia Correctional Intstitute. It's a maximum security facility in Portage, WI but there is a 150 bed medium/minimum security barracks building inside the fence. That's the only medium/minumum I know of in Columbia County.
