MTV's Choose or Lose 2004: 20 Million Loud is airing a show about Drug Laws on Monday, October 18th, 11pm/10pm central. I know MTV might not seem like the most credible source for news, but I've found their news specials to be pretty informative.

I was REALLY disappointed with the whole show!!! I mean they gave a b.s. portayal of the whole problem. From start....they showed a guy who got set-up and ended up with a longer sentence beyond what he should have gotten for the offense he was actually 'caught' doing. From a great start they moved into what the two candidates thought. Basically they left me more confused, skated around all the issues and tried to stay so neutral it probably did more harm. After, they moved right into faith based rehabilitation. THE PROBLEM/ISSUE IS NOT FAITH BASED REHABILITATION!!! THE PROBLEM FOR ME IS UNREASONABLE AND UNJUST MANDATORY MINIMUMS AND CONSPIRACY! They never discussed conspiracy nor mandatory minimums. I was totally disappointed and the show was completely POINTLESS. I was really frustrated after watching it because it basically reminded how clueless many lawmakers are and how uninformed most of our society is! Sorry for the tangent, I just get very emotional about this topic.

I saw it again last night. I agree with you (optimistic). I thought the beging was a good start. The whole thing about faith based rehab should not have even been discussed. I am also very passionate about manditory min. Iguess you can say that, even if they only showed the two cases regarding manditory min. in the first 5 minutes of the show it is better than what their viewers were seeing before - nothing-
