View Full Version : Lakeview
alone46 10-11-2004, 09:27 AM Does anyone know what day visiting is once you are in a platoon at shock at lakeview, is the day different at other shock facilities. My boyfriend is in the reception part of shock now and it is saturdays, he thinks once he starts it changes to sundays. i gotta try to figure my work schedule, so any info would be great.
:D
Sam's girl 10-11-2004, 11:39 AM I never went to Lakeview so I don't know about them. I do know that in Summit the visits are every other Sunday.
nicksgirl 10-11-2004, 02:46 PM If he is staying at Lakeview for his shock program, it will change to every other Sunday once he gets in to the program. If he is being transfered to another facility then it stays at Saturday while he is at Lakeview. Once he is transfered, it is every other Sunday. The best thing that I can suggest is to call and speak with a someone up at Lakeview. They will tell you if he is going to stay or transfer. If you plan on visiting this weekend make sure that you call on Friday to see what is going on.
I found out when I called that he is being transfered very shorty. They just don't know where or will not tell me. So I can't make plans to see him. :(
alone46 10-11-2004, 07:38 PM I just found out tonight that he may get transferred too, I got to talk to him twice tonight, someone he knew was running the phones or something, so we even got to talk longer than 10 minutes. It was really nice. I also got to see him at Lakeview on Sat. However, if he gets transferred it is going to be a long drive.:(
Hope you get to find out soon!
nicksgirl 10-11-2004, 07:48 PM I'm gald that you got to see him. It's a very long drive for me (about 10 hours) so I haven't seen him since he left county. If he goes to Summit, it's only about 4 hours. He is better of transfering out of Lakeview. It's the hardest shock facilty out of the 4 offered.
Mine called me tonight as well yesterday. He still has no idea when he is going to be transfered or where. All he said is that he had to spend the day ironing his clothes to get ready for the transfer. Just the thought of him ironing is making me laugh. He always had his Mom or myself iron his cloths. I may have to have him do the ironing when he gets home. ;)
alone46 10-11-2004, 09:16 PM Yea I had asked mine if he had to iron yet, he said the one at reception is broke. He did say something about doing "bunny hops" yesterday and had a hard time getting out of bed today, and he hasn't even started yet, he knows worse is in store, I think monterey is closest to us, he said moriah or summit, I hope he meant monterey or summit, moriah would be like 7 or 8 hours, ugh the thought of it. The phones at Lakeview were horrible today, I could only hear every other word it seems. Oh well, it was sooo good to talk to him.
nicksgirl 10-11-2004, 09:28 PM Summit or Moriah would be okay. I think Summit is the best for me. I have to travel from LI. The phones were really bad tonight. I have also found the he is peaking very low and without emotion. Also, it seems that he is ready to get off at least 2 minutes before the allowed time. I was really good to talk to him since it over 2 weeks for me. Why do I get the feeling that our two men may wind up in the same squad?
alone46 10-13-2004, 07:40 PM Yea they may end up on the same platoon, how funny would that be? What do u mean by he is peaking low and without emotion? I didn't understand. I think your man was at lakeview before mine though, so he will probably stay at lakeview longer. Keep me posted though. I haven't heard from him since monday, the phones were awful then too, hopefully I can see him sat, if he is still there.
nicksgirl 10-13-2004, 07:49 PM One of the rules is that they have to speak low or they have to do 100 push ups. My guy mubles so it makes it harder when he speaks low and shows no getting adjusted to the program. Once they are transfered to their final place, they can not write or call for 2 weeks. They can get yours.
I spoke with someone yesterday at Lakeview. She gave me a lot of information that may be useful to you as well. PM if you want. She could not tell me when or where he is going due to privacy law but reading between the lines he will be gone either Thusday or Friday. She told me to call her Friday mid morning for an update.
alone46 10-13-2004, 07:57 PM I will really go nuts without a letter or phone call for 2 weeks, I can't stand going 2 days without a letter! Good thing you told me that one, better prepare for it now.
nicksgirl 10-13-2004, 08:13 PM From what I was told, they are going to be so busy from 5:00 am til 9:00 pm that we should be happy if we get one letter a week. The only free time is Sunday.
When you are writing, make sure that it is only hand written. They will not allow newspaper atricles or anything from the computer. Cards are allowed as well.
