...but you can find out much more from everyone here at PTO...as far as what their experiences have been like, as well as wonderful support and friendship.

Here is some info on Eastern:

The 3 of these are grouped together in a small area. I've seen too many people waste their time sitting in the Eastern reception room when they should have been at the Annex or Ulster. Please be sure of where you're going BEFORE you go. When you turn at the light on Rt. 209 Eastern is right in front of you. The Annex and Ulster are to the left of Eastern.

Also, you are not allowed on the property until 8am. Some CO's enjoy kicking you out if it's 7:55. There will be a line of cars on the road in front of Eastern and you get behind the last car. There is no rush for the door since everyone respects where you were on line because no one wants to wait out in the cold or rain (unless the buses come, then you run for the door). Once in a while there's someone who will test the way things are done but for the most part everyone is really nice. The CO's are decent if you treat them decent for the most part.


As far as Max facilities go, Eastern has got to be the best that I have visited. Most of the C.O.'s are fairly decent, the visiting room is cafeteria style....sit where you like and kissing and loving allowed as long as you don't get carried away. On Mother's Day, Valentine's Day and Christmas, there is usually a huge sheet cake baked by one of the inmate bakers (and it is really professional looking too) and it is free for everyone. The cake is free with coffee and tea also. In the summer we can go outside to picnic tables in a grassy area with a play area for the children. In all, it is one of the most decent max facilities around. If my husband must be in prison, I am glad he is there! FRP's used to be 2 /2 months apart, now they average about 3 mos. The trailers have all been upgraded so everything looks pretty decent and new. The inmates raised money by cooking a few different dinners and making other inmates pay to come. It worked out great and they raised enough to equip most of the trailers with everything needed for a cozy three days

Eastern is a very cool place to go and truthfully i wish my boyfriend would got back there.ive been going to eastern for a while and i must say its the best place ive been.your boyfriend can get all kinds of food.but it has to be refrigerated.if you want a list of the things he can get he can request one to send you.the visiting floors are not at all strick and you can dress in the bathroom but truthfully you can come dressed.they have outside visits in the summer and even barbecue's for the family.you can bring the food to eat and cook.Eastern is cool and the c.o.'s that are on post are cool to.i hope i answered some of your questions for now.if not feel free to ask aaway.
