My washer is leaking and the water is coming from under it. It did this a long time agom but then it stopped. Its not leaking all the water out, but enough to make things a bit wet on the floor. It seems I heard that if a washer is off balance then it will leak. Is this true and if so how do you balance it? It seems that the last time it did this it only did it for a few days then pretty much fixed itself.

I guess it was so off balance that it shook itself back into place. :D

your washer legs should be adjustable. Grab hold of a leg and turn it to make it go up or down and you should be able to balance it from there. If they are not, I would recommend putting a shim under the off balance leg.

So is it true then that being off balance will make it leak underneath? Its so old I really dont know if the legs will turn, but if not I will put something underneath. I know that there have been times its shook so hard things vibrate off the walls

I'm not sure about the leak, but I think so. Mine dances across the kitchen, so I know what you mean!

Well I know when mine is off balance I stop it by opening the lid and rearranging the clothes inside it once the load is balanced out then it stops...mostly happens when its spinning the clothes out......if you rearrange the clothes inside it then it will stop, making sure the clothes are not all on one side of the tub.... then just turn it back on....works for me!! :)

mine does that because my dog squeezes behind it and pulls the hose loose. I'd check the hose.
