I am sure I can't convey the emotions I feel, but Tuesday last week we brought our daughter home from the Federal Medical Satellite Camp in Lexington. You may recall that she served as our ambassador "welcome wagon lady" for the last few months. When we parked in the appropriate spot to wait for her arrival in a "white van", we were both so excited. Finally, the van appeared and she jumped out - yeah, in civilian clothing - waving and grinning at us - and bounded into R&D to pick up her release documents, her final pay ($18 or so...). In those moments, she was more beautiful than I have ever seen her. Her pals in the landscaping unit kept wandering by - hoping to see her "leave". One of her best friends is a Tennessee Volunteer fan and we knew that. She was standing in the pavilion to see our daugher leave, and to give her a lift, as we drove out of the grounds, I ran my hand out the window and held up a UT flag. We brought the flag just for that purpose -- to give her a smile for a few moments.
Our daugher has met with probation; the phone line has been ordered to begin electronic monitoring - she is back to work. All is well right now. I can walk down the hall and see her; I can call her cell phone and she will answer. As she says, "everyone needs to call me; I have been doing all the calling".
I am not articulate enough to express all the feelings I have. That is why I have waited until now to post about her return.
I could not have made it through this period without PTO (and Chrisa, in particular, who has been my lifeline). I am here and want to help any time and any way that I can. If I can help, please PM or post. I can here for all of you.
Love to all the wonderful members and administration of PTO, my life savers for the last five months.
