Well, Alabama-interested folks, I had a series of calls tonight from my boyfriend in Limestone and he reports that the big rumor currently going around there is about the possibility of the new governor doing something about the overcrowding problem as soon as he gets into office. They've all heard about (as I'm sure most of us have read in the media by now) the new governor saying he didn't want to inherit the overcrowding problem and intends to do something about it ASAP - and the media has reported that Alabama is one of the states that has been looking at what other states (like Kentucky) have done as far as releasing prisoners. So let's keep some fingers crossed!!

As far as the Parole Board and their behind-ness, Brian says his cellmate's hearing was supposed to be in January and he's heard nothing as of yet. Brian's was supposed to be in February, so at least when his cellmate's hearing gets scheduled we'll know Brian's should be about a month later. We've been told not to expect anything 'til probably much later in the year, but who knows. In any case, as soon as I find out they're reviewing what should have been the January paroles - and Brian will probably call me the day his cellmate gets his notification - I'll post it here!

Wayne's been hearing the same rumors in Loxley, so I am just hoping there's some truth to it.

I promise you Governor-elect Riley - if you let him come home, he'll NEVER go to Alabama again! :)
