Jim, a good source of information for your research would be the cases reported by the U.S. Court of Appeals for Armed Forces. You can access them at findlaw.com. Click on the link under "For Legal Professionals" for Cases and Codes-Federal, then scroll down to the link for the Court. Of course, not all cases are reported, but that should give you some useful information. I have looked for stats on military convictions and have found that, if they do exist, they are closely guarded secret. I spoke to a JAG about it and he said he wasn't sure they were compiled for public dissemination, if at all. I doubt that many will give you details concerning their loved one's offense. First, it is a violation of that person's privacy (of which they have so little left) and second, it is just too painful. You can gain much info just by reading the posts here. Some of us open up from time to time because the hurt is just too much to bear alone and sharing with others who can truly relate to our feelings helps immensely. I read some of your other postings and while I do not want to discourage your participation in any way, please keep in mind that the emotions of those who come here are fairly raw and we are vulnerable in ways those who do not have a loved one incarcerated can never be. We are here to support each other by providing information and unequivocal acceptance and understanding. Please continue to contribute to our forums with any information you may have to share. Thanks for your support.
