If anyone has a loved one in Lawtey Florida please let me know. Luther (my fiance) and I were talking and he thought this site was great. He wanted to know if he was the only PTO loved one in Lawtey.

My sweetie, Jeff Thompson has been there for five months.
Hopefully he can transfer closer to home in January. We are trying to get married, but you have to have 2 visits. My visiting application has been denied.

Well you can always try again on the visitation.

I did, and I called, they denied it again. I'm a co-defendant.

My sweetie is also at Lawtey. He's been there since February and will be there he thinks for another 15 months until he's eligible for work release or whatever. I was also denied visitation because I was a co-defendant and am on probation. He says it's not too bad there, like a big summer camp except for the razor wire and no one goes home at the end of the summer. LOL

My Charlie has a friend who was in Madison with him that was transferred to Lawtey a few months ago. (Li'l John)

WOW FINALLY some people with luved ones in there! MY man has been there since the day before thanksgiving i go there every weekend he should be going to wrc this month though the prison is pretty nice it has a lot of oppurtouintiy my man tells me and it offers alot more than most prisons so if anyone is on the way maybe i could pick ya up or something or if u have any ?'s im sure i could ask my huney and he can answer them and please any of u want to talk please feel free to pm me PLEASE DO my name is jenn

My boyfriend has been in lawtey sence 2002 and he dont come home till 2007 he gets work release hopefully in December... and I really hope he can be by me.. so yeah i feel everyones pain who has loved ones in lawtey...

My fiance is in Lawtey since 2000 and well be going to Work Release in a month hopefully closer to me. He get out in May 2006 for good. He be home with me finally. I can't wait. I'm from Brevard area. Anyone going to Work Release near Brevard area?

Hey ladies,
My guy is currently at Tomoka in the faith based program there and wants to eventually transfer to Lawtey when he's done with the program. How is Lawtey? Is it better cause it's a Faith based prison? He's been talking for awhile about going there. And if it's better for him there than I'm all for it. Plus it's still close to me only about 20 minutes farther than Tomoka is from me, but still close.

He just has to get his custody level dropped, which it should've been by now but since he got into all that crap when he was at Gulf a couple of years ago it hasn't dropped yet. But the last time he spoke to his classifcation officer and told him his plan the classification officer was very positive about what James wants to do. He wants to finish the Faith program at Tomoka, get his custody level dropped, transfer to Lawtey stay there till he has about 4 years left on his sentence then transfer to Palatka (which is only 25 minutes from me!!) then come home!! Anyway I'm glad he's doing something constructive with his time and is strongly focusing on doing the right thing to get home to me. And I support him. I was just wondering what Lawtey was like. Didn't mean to get off on a tangent, I'm just proud of him. :)
