I did wasco reception center for three months, thank god hes out of there, its the worse place I have ever been, we were both relieved when he was transferred. I drove there with a friend, we took turns, wasco is a town with nothing in it, and I mean nothing, the closet town is bakersfield, where does the amtrak let you off. vistiting starts at 8:30 am and ends at 3:00, if you have an hour visit, be there at least before 1:00, and make sure you dress right or its a no go, they are very strict on their dress code.

Wasco phone number is 661-758-8400.

Hopefully your man gets transferred soon.

You should call and see if they have a van to pick you up from the train station. It is a really small station with nothing around it. A few of the prisons do have van service.

OH AND THE MAIL AT WASCO IS REALLY BAD, IT TAKES ABOUT THREE WEEKS FOR THEM TO GET THEIR MAIL. HOPEFULLY EVERYTHING WORKS OUT FOR YOU AND YOU HAVE A NICE VISIT. HAVE FUN, I THINK THEY DO HAVE A VAN, CALL AND CHECK WITH THEM THEY CAN GIVE YOU ALL THE INFO YOU NEED. I DONT MEAN TO SOUND SO NEGATIVE ABOUT WASCO, BUT I HAD MY RUN INS WITH THEM, IM GLAD HES OUT OF THERE. HAVE A GREAT VISIT AND IT WILL WORK OUT. WHERE THERES A WILL THERES A WAY. WE GO TO WHATEVER LENGTHS WE HAVE TO, TO SEE OUR LOVED ONES.

My son was taken to wasco from fresno a couple of days ago. He thought he was sentenced to 1 wk in fresno and 1 week in wasco. well after the 2 weeks was up he was transferred to wasco, no telling how lon. Does anyoen no how to get the cdc # so I can write him and how long it takes for him to get a cdc #. This is his first time in prison. How do they treat first timmers.

What do you need to do to be able to visit? I've never been there.

is there a certain building you go to for visits? Does it matter what yard he's in?

Before visiting, you need to be approved to visit and it could take up to 3 weeks to a couple of months.. But mine only took a little over a month and I got approved..

I"m not too sure bout this, but it depends if the inmates are in reception or not.. I think that visitng behind the glass has only one ROOM, but if the inmates are AD seg then they have a different room.. I may be wrong.. But for mainlined, I think that theres about 1 yards but my husband was only mainlined for a couple of days before he got transferred, so I didn't get to visit him in Wasco for Mainlined.. Hopefully somone will come by and help you.. Take Kare.. :D
