Nothing criminally, although the DA can prosecute the case without the victim's cooperation. The victim can also be subpoenaed, which means that they have to testify per the subpoena whether they want to or not. If the victim doesn't go to court as ordered, she can be put into custody to ensure her appearance in court.

The accuser does not need to testify against the accused........ I left CA to be with my family when everything happened with me and my husband and he went to court and was sentenced without anything to do with me. In CA they do not require the victim to testify..... it used to be like that but so many women would feel sorry for their spouse and get them off the hook only for the same thing to happen again, so the laws were changed. Now, once you make the DV report, it is out of your hands.
