Does anyone know if the Feds recently (or not so recently) passed a law making persons convicted of "Identity Theft" subject to a mandatory minimum sentence, and if so, what that minimum is?

I believe President Bush signed the "Idenitity Theft Act" into law this past July. Althought I know there is a mandatory minimum I do not know what it is.

Just found it.

Mandatory minimum is two years. If it has to do with any kind of terrorism the mandatory is five years.

Is this really good news for us? The Supreme Court is really going to re-evaluate the current Federal Sentencing Guidelines? Are any other issues simultaneously being incorporated?
