View Full Version : Anyone been transferred out of USP Beaumont due to Diciplinary action
kintml2u 01-04-2003, 04:11 PM Just wondering if anyone's loved ones had been transferred out of USP Beaumont due to getting in trouble....
I am curious as to which location they were shipped to following such a transfer.
Diane
well that actually depends on what unit is not over crowded.
best if wishes to you
kintml2u 01-04-2003, 07:15 PM lulu...in the feds....there is none that I can find! Infact with the rated populations....I do believe each one is over the amount! I guess thats why they keep building...and building....and building......
that is true,,,,see sometimes they will take them to OK before they ship them too where they need to go,
they have some brand new ones. i wish you well, please keep me informaed if you woudl, i wold like to know where they send him, one thing about the feds,,,they donbt care where they ssend them, that is what i hate about that,,,,,,,is he stil in beaumont?
kintml2u 01-04-2003, 09:29 PM yes...he is still in Beaumont...I am sure it will be a good month before they ship him out if its anything like Beckley WV...thats where he started......then was shipped to OK for a few weeks....and onto Beaumont.
He got another shot....2nd one since getting there in April...and they are shipping him out already!
I heard they have a new one opening in Inez KY....one also coming in Hazelton WV....but I seriously doubt they'd ship a bad inmate to a new facility! I keep saying.....he will be in California.......since I am on the east coast in Maryland! lol
flygirlaa2 01-05-2003, 01:35 AM Kint, I have a little experience. Mine went to Atwater, ca. from Beaumont. OKC is the transit center and they always go thru there to get to where they are going. Atwater is new and is still under capacity. It is hell. I pray your loved one does not end up there. Also, USP Lee in va. is new. My fiance is in OKC awaiting his transfer to lee. I am very worried about it also. It is in teh middle of nowhere. No major highway to get to it. Up in the mountains, backwoods. I am having visions of "Deliverance" type co's. If you have any questions about our situation, pm me or ask them on this thread. Good luck and god bless.
flygirlaa2 01-05-2003, 01:40 AM One more thing, usually they can put in for a region and they will be sent within that region. So if he puts in for the northeast or the mid atlantic region he may end up in USP Lee. Oh wait, last I read they weren't accepting disciplinary transfers yet. But, that may be old news.
Fed-X 01-05-2003, 02:02 AM Flygirlaa2,
If it is a disciplinary x-fer, they (the inmate) is not going to be heading towards family and friends (usually). The feds only do that when everything is going well for the inmate & they are low classification, not trouble in their eyes. Their idea of punishment is deep hole and diesel theoropy. (spelling)
Now, as for a x-fer OUT of Blow-mont USP/Medium or even low.. Blow-mont use to be the bottom of the barrel.. Where they (the B.O.P.) sent their "ruff necks" to gladiate and deal with the "punishment".. To me, it sounds like they have new institutions opening and they need to transfer people to them. What better candidates than the discplnary. x-fers.. Where the family can scream and they can say "the inmates were hard cases".
*I am not saying that is the case, just the B.O.P. excuse*
I've been out of the system long enough for the name "Lee" to be new to me at this point, and it is probably another "NEW" Beaumont at this point.. They transfer anyone they can there to justify building of that facility...
I wouldn't be surprised to see anyone transfered there that either has family living within 150 miles, or is facing even petty disciplinary x-fer..
flygirlaa2 01-05-2003, 03:32 AM I openly admit I have little experience with the system. I can only speak to my specific situation. Amir was transfered to Atwater from Beaumont because he had a transfer in for the west coast. He had enough points to qualify him for a medium security prison and put in for oregon. They took him for Atwater simply to fill beds, even though he has earned a medium security level. Once he arrived in Atwater, he was put in the hole within days. He filed complaints on female guards who were speaking to him in an inappropriate sexual context. They claimed it was for his own protection. His mother and I began writing our congressmen and representives as well the lady in charge of the bop. After seven months of wrangling, he was allowed to put in a transfer for the mid atlantic region. The transfer was dependent on him paying additional monies toward his fines and it was a disciplinary transfer. Even though it was considered a disciplinary transfer, he was allowed to go to the region his mother lives in. He was given USP Lee because, once again, it is new and they are trying to fill beds. I do realize this is a complicated story, so if there are any questions, please feel free to ask and I'll answer them as best I can.
kintml2u 01-05-2003, 10:38 AM While I do realize no 2 situations will be the same with the BOP.....I am just trying to get a feel of which location they may deem to be a worser punishment then the USP Beaumont... lol
Actually Flygirl.....with Lee being 8 1/2 hours away from me....I don't care if nothing is around! It sure beats 22 hours in Texas! And if your loved one was on a good conduct...lower security transfer....why would they ship him to a harder location. I always thought that with the newer locations.....the CO's..were more of a "bitch" to deal with....being new...they have to try to stand their ground so to speak....but thats an assumption I have made....
He was designated to the MA region...that don't mean shit in the BOP...sorry....they will do as they choose! And sure...upon a good transfer...mabey they will keep you in the region you want. Why are they still sending him to a USP if his security has reached meduim level???
Fed-X...Nice to see you down this neck of the woods...and I was glad to see you post back against this.....I always like your input with the experience .
With distance...it can only get 3 times worse....CO or the 2 in CA....so we have a better chance at a closer location. I guess its a good thing most USP's are towards the East coast....
As you know...they keep hush hush about it....and we don't know a thing. On his last transfer....his counselor did tell him he was going to Beaumont....he actually told him he thought it was wrong! While he has not been able to grow close to this new couselor and case manager after a short 9 months...I doubt they will tell. We'll just have to wait for the big day to speak! Ofcourse I pray that he would end up in PA...3 hours away in either location there...I know better with the BOP!
I will let you all know surely when he gets in transit AGAIN!
Thanks for the input....all!
Diane
Best wishes to you Diane. Fedx is right, they do not care where they will stick them, i had spoken with the lady that was supposly in charge of all that in washington, i was asking about the resons why they took the unlimited phone mins away from the guys,,well, she did inform me that they do what they can to help the inmates that they do move the inmates closer to the family,,,first thing i said was, you do not. she said yes mam ( sp) we do,,i said ,,really, then how come these guys in order to move closer to home have to be on good behavior for 18 months, ( something like that ) in order for them to be moved closer to home? she i think said we do the best we can,,yeah right, i did not say that, lol anyway, them people are a mess. i wish you the best. :)
flygirlaa2 01-05-2003, 10:53 AM I have a copy of his transfer lists since he has been incarcerated. It says when they shipped him to Atwater, it was to staff that prison opening. His points are one level above minimum security. I have copies of that also. They keep sending him to a max due to the god he prays to. They are allowed to send someone to a max if they determine in their sole disgretion that he requires the extra security of a max prison. I have been over this a hundred times, as I said we have been dealing with allot of people of this.
I seem to have aggrivated people for some odd reason. My appoligies. I will keep OUR story to myself. It is best that way anyways.
kintml2u 01-05-2003, 11:52 AM No...Flygirl...please don't feel as you have aggrevated anyone! Surely not me!
The entire situation dealing with the BOP gets to me...and at times you may feel my frustrations! Please...don't feel as it is aimed at you! I am completely SORRY if you took it that way!
I enjoy sharing in these situations where we can help others who also face the BOP. While we will never completely figure out their motives..we may gain better knowledge! If I didn't want feedback,,,I would not have asked for it.
Again, please except my apologies if I have came off the wrong way. It surely wasn't meant to be taken in that nature.

kintml2u 01-05-2003, 12:04 PM LuLu,
Yes...I ahd spoken to the people in Annopolis to..the Mid Atlantic Regional office back when they approved his transfer to Beaumont Texas. They ofcourse told me they do what they can to keep them within a range of their home town.....yeah...OK! Show me the proof I say now!
At the time of his transfer...I don't believe USP Lee was completely activated so to speak. So at that time, there was NO USP in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Now..it is the only USP in this region. Ofcourse the ones in the North East Region are closer to his home town, his family and myself. But as Fed-X said...they will do nothing to help lighten the distance they have placed between us I am sure due to his behavior. After all...they do consider this punishment....right?! LOL
How many do you communicate with that are in the federal system Lulu if I may ask? I take it as you have dealt with this typw of thing as well.
Thanks again for your input. While I have many "online" friends dealing with teh justice system....in these cases....hearing from those who deal with the BOP feel better at times.
Diane
Hi Diane,,,,please know that you have not upset any one here, when to the system,,,wow, i think our emtions go crazy,,:)
i write to 14 federal inmates. just now for another one. :)
yes, i have dealt with this as well. some of it is plum nuts lol
if there is anything i can do ,please feel free to Pm me anytime.
kintml2u 01-05-2003, 01:05 PM Lulu,
Thank you! I did send you a PM. It really helps being able to talk with others who know about the system we deal with. While on state levels....every state pretty much varies....federal is pretty much across the board.
