Time of Reflection
When I look across the tables and see
all this sadness and gloom.
I think of all the dreams
these bars and walls try to consume.
Leinberger inmates, accused of a crime,
wait for the judge to deside if we'll do time
With the waiting and nothing to do
contemplation can be depressing too.
I'm trying to get through today
so, tomorrow, I can accomplish all I need to.
I won't live in the past, I'll hold it at bay
for it's a dead end road and I must learn to obey.
Now that my crime is done,
can't wait until my time is through.
My past hold's lots of secrets
that I keep deep inside so I won't be blue.
I've come to realize I'm a prisoner, in manyways,
both on the inside and out, is how it plays.
In my time of reflection I must learn from my past,
Or condemned I'll be to repeat it fast.
