Can anyone tell me what the Walters facility is like? Are they pretty easy going and laid back? My fiancee' may be going there. He has been offered a job there but I'm not sure he is going to take it. That would mean that he will be 5 hrs. away from me. :( And that makes me sad but it will be for the better. Does anyone know how true this is, he was told that for every 900 and something hrs. he works that he will get a year knocked off his sentence? Hope someone can help me out here.

Ok Walters isnt too bad of a place That is where Terry was right before the halfway he is at now. They are required to have a job but they do not get paid for it, they are allowed trips to the dollar store and the smoke shop, you can mail in packages once a month but have him get a current list of what he can have since they change it all the time. Officer Beto there is really pretty friendly. They can have actual cash but it has to be mailed in, they can have church clothes and street clothes although they do make them mark them inmate and they can only be certain ccolors again make him get you the dos and dont as they change there ALOT!!! They can sign up and go out into the public to church we absolutely loved "Gods healing Hands House of Prayer (yes I said WE) Pastor Bill encourages the family to come to church with them. And the guards are cool with it. You can only visit from 10:30 till 2:30 each day but can go both days and driving that far you proably want to do 2 days anyway. You can take in money and there ios on real limit to it though they do want it to be change even though the guys can have green money. Oh and they take poictures at every visit if you want to buy them. They have a nice outside area and a swing set and such for the kids to play on. And no guards really breathing down your neck.

Now for the bad news the 900 hours thing isnt true hun they get nothing extra for working except to break uop the day and give them experience and such.

Thansk mommahen, I knew you would come a long and let me know something. I thought your man had been there but I wasn't for sure. Well he didn't take the offer so now we just wait and see where they send him on their own. He went to school for masonary and he was told that there was an institutional need there so that is why he was offered the job. Why would his case manager tell him he would make 150.00 a month if he went there? I'm not sure were the info came from on the 900 hr thing, it did sound to good to be true. He was also told that they were gonna try to get him some extra hrs knocked off but the next day when he went in he was told they couldn't get that done and so he told them he wasn't going. I guess they were just blowing smoke up his butt. Seems like that happens a lot. My folks live just 40 min from there so the drive wouldn't be that bad cause I would have somewhere to stay on the weekends. There is still a chance that they will ship him there anyway. Please keep us in your prayers, we need him in Musk. Closer to us not farther away. That's good that they can have church clothes and street clothes and not have to mark them, so did you meet him at church? How did that all work? It's great that they encourage the families to come to church with them. That really is wonderful. I can't believe that you only get to visit 4 hrs. a day. That is crazy especially when people have to drive so far. It sounds good not to have guards breathing down your necks. Mommahen you have truly been a blessing to me. I really appreciate your comments and I hope you don't leave us once your man comes home. I know your gonna try to make up for lost time but don't forget about us here at PTO. Your wait is almost over and I am so happy for you.

Yeah we meet at the church and it was great because we could be together from 9 to 130 at church then I would stay around and come back at night for the 630 to 9 pm evening one too get around that 4 hour thing!!! LOL

I just pray that he is sent closer to us, I know can deal with it if he is sent off far away. His mother is worried about him going farther away, she is afraid that something may happen between our relationship, but like I told her it only makes us stronger. We have come so far and we are very strong in our relationship and there is nothing that will come between us. God brought us together and he will see us through this.
