Hello all
I'm Gillian from Calgary Canada. I was here some time ago but had a lot of health issues and needed some time to sort myself out. I know I tend to look after everyone else ahead of me and it took its toll, so now I have to be here for me as well. I'm sure you all understand.
My son is Lee is 28 and has been incarcerated on and off since he was 13. So we have lots of experience with the injustice system. He is an alcoholic and drug addict and all of his crimes are related to that. As I always say, he is a good person just not good at robbing banks :rolleyes:
I look forward to catching up on all of your news and it will be wonderful to meet all the new parents.

I'm starting to feel not too bad. I have lost a lot of the movement in the left side of my body, in particular my arm and hand. Gets to be frustrating but I'll get on with it. Totally agree about the stress, it will kill us if we let it. I am working real hard to "let go" of lots of "stuff" especially the stuff I can't change or control.
Still have a lot of anger to deal with as I am still having difficulty getting over my son going back inside once again. Its been nearly 2 years now and I have a hard time talking to him. He just got transferred closer to home so I will go and visit. Haven't seen him since his last arrest. I have told him how I feel and have gotten it out in the open, so now we move on.

I know how you feel. Butch too has served two terms in prison, one when he was 18 and then this one when he was 24. I have had some problems lately with his attitude also. I stayed away for awhile and I guess he realized just how much Old Mom has been there for him... Sometimes they forget. When you get a chance send me a PM.

Thanks for the welcome. I am learning to take care of me, its hard. I am a caregiver by nature and tend to make sure that everyone else is doing alright at my own expense. I think its a mom thing :D
