Adam called me last night and I had to go and lay down after the call. Someone from University of Cincinnati's School of Law contacted him and the people from the innocence project want to help him. The plea he took to avoid the death penalty was even worse in my eyes and not any deal at all. He was crying and I was crying and he called me back twice to get everything out. If they can prove that there was alot of stuff going on and the trial was rushed through he might be able to get a new trial, even though he took a plea. He asked me to call and do all the outside follow up with these people and has asked me to be his power of attorney. If he can get a new trial and a reversal on appeal or even a sentence reduction, there will be alot of happy people running around here. Just had to share, there is a chance to for some real justice happening.

Thank you, I just want my nephew back home where he belongs. Meeting with a lawyer at the prison at 7:30pm to sign all the POA forms and maybe I'll be able to give the boy a hug.

the Innocence Project is one great thing! I am looking to get involved with that next year. From my understanding (the one here in Georgia) the project gives so many cases to law students and they look into it. They then do a presentation to a group of attorneys on their findings, and the attorneys make the decision on whether there is enough to possibly appeal. The law student does most of the work. It is such a great thing! I am so happy to hear about this. They just released a man here in Georgia that served 17 years in prison for a rape he did not commit. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

I'm all for it, especially when innocent people are getting home where they should have been all along.
