I'm not sure that i am psting this in the correct forum, but i was wondering, what exactly is a "blanket party"? I could ask my man, but it takes a week for him to get my letter and another week before i get a reply. I am curious to know what it is sooner than that.

I think it's when the victim gets jumped by a bunch of people and they throw a blanket over the person's head, so they cannot see/identify who the attackers are...

I think the military uses this slang too...

Thats pretty much it, The ones that i have seen, the inmates usually throw a blanket over the victims head and beat him either with fists, locks in socks, or other type blunt objects, and yes the blanket is so that he can not identify anyone.

I think a blanket party has become a ritual for guys showing affection, but it is when a blanket is thrown over an unsuspecting victim and they beat him up. A lot of blanket parties get thrown on birthdays, parole answers, etc.:)

Being your on the "staight talk" forum, here it is:

The term coming from the inside means either beating and/or rape so the victim can not ID.

Wasn't there a scene in the movie Full Metal Jacket, where there's this guy who gets beat up during a "blanket party" (I think he gets his platoon into trouble) and he goes psycho???

I thought this was a quilting slumber party for Red Hat society or "love-making" when one comes home, oop. LOL. Thanks for something new to learn! :)

Yes that scene was in Full Metal Jacket. I can not watch that movie ever again because of that scene. It was just too disturbing.

I know this is serious ...but...Im setin here cracking up thinking, I would find the thought of my man geting beat down way more comforting than him having slumber partys in prison....yes I know...I'm just not right!...can't wait to tell him about it

Well, somehow word got out that I recieved an FI-1 which in Texas means that I made my first parole! I was very blessed to recieve such a gift. However, I did not want the whole pod knowing that I was leaving in about 3 weeks. I had heard stories of people getting jealous and wanting to get cases thrown on you, etc...

A few of my road dogs, threw me a nice blanket party the night before I left on the chain..Mine was harmless as it was some homies just hazing me a bit, some blanket parties are much more vicious. I never saw any, but I didnt do that much time, and I was at a transfer most of the time.

While I've never been part of a blanket party, we did something similar aboard ship the first time you crossed the equator. Don't get me started on pledging a fraternity.

Guys do weird stuff to each other and call it bonding. ;)
