Does anyone know anything about Pack Unit or Luther Unit, both in Navasota? We're going to attempt to get Brandon moved a bit closer to Austin, due to hardship for his dad to visit. He's got a really bad hip that needs to be replaced, although they can't afford it and don't have health insurance. Anyway, it's very hard for him to ride 3 hours to visit right now. The best I can find closer are these two units, although Travis State Jail right here in Austin seems to house some TDCJ inmates, and that would be convenient. Also, does anyone know, does the unit in Kyle only handle drug rehab? Or does it also handle alcohol?
We're hoping to get him somewhere he can start taking college classes. He wants to take Psychology. That's what he'd like to get his bachelor's degree in. How do we go about seeing if these courses are offered anywhere?

Thanks ya'll!

Nancy hey nancy it might be a little late on answering this but owell i'll shout for it .. so were u able to find a way to move him .. my husband is at luther unit and what i hear it a pretty good unit he is taking classes there for Psychology. so i do know they have the class for that all i pay for that is $500 for 4 class. this sem.. i only had to pay 450 and he got to take a free class i think he just has to request a form to sign up or talk to the counselor. i'll can ask my husband tomorrow while i go up there for visit . so where is your husband now ?? i know once they start taking course they cant moved them. ive never had problem with them and the co there seem pretty okay. i live in san marcos so its only a 2 hour drive for me. my cousin used to work at kyle unit so did my husbands brother i know at first it was a unit but now its a drug rehab but anyways i doubt that helps now unless he's coming home soon. feel free to pm back sorry if im a little late but i was searching to see if i came arcoss anyone that had someone at luther.

Hey Brittany! No, we weren't able to get him moved. He's in Beaumont...long 4 hour drive through downtown Houston to get there! UGH! We're still trying to figure something out with it.
Thanks for sending me this message though. I hope your hubby is doing ok.
