I hope I'm doing this right. Sorry if I'm not!

Anyway I have two friends in the North Annex at Wayside (Peter Pitchess) both on parole violations. One of them is waiting for a court date on a new charge (possession for sale), but the other one didn't pick up a new charge. He was picked up during a traffic stop and violated for absconding. My question is has anyone heard how long they are giving for violators? And whether or not they will go to state if they are given under a year in LA County or are violators being kept at Wayside? Someone said that they are housing violators from Ventura County at Wayside. Also when I went to visit him he said he could be COP'd by the end of the week. If not then he'd probably be given a year. But, its been 13 days and he hasn't been seen by the board yet. I thought that they had to go before the board within 10 days. One more question about my friend with the sales charge......... if his case is thrown out will they still violate him?? No case no violation....right....wrong?

My guy was sent back with a parole violation. they only gave him 30days. Im not sure if its due to the fact that before he got violated he was gonna be completed with his parole status within 2 weeks. BUt also they violated him but didnt charge him for anythig. they jsut have him sitting in Wayside until 30 days is up then they said he's released.

No case no violation....right....wrong?Well for one thing when they have a hold
for abscounding they will be sent back to prison, the BPT has 35 days to give
him a morriessy hearing. He could be sentenced up to a year for abscounding.
Yes they will violate him regardless if he has his case thrown out. If he is on
parole he has violated parole. Your friend could be cop'ed by the BPT but that
also depends on who the commissioner is that hears the case. Hope this is helpful to you. Suzi

Thanks for your responses.
Its been 7 weeks now and he still hasn't been to the board or talked to anyone. They're just holding him there. What can we do about this? Does he have to be given a lawyer? Won't they have to release him since the 35 days are past? How long can they keep him there without taking him to board? Who can I contact to find out what they plan on doing with him? I mean they can't just keep him in limbo indefinately, can they?
Thanks!
Maria
