Welcome to PTO. There are lots of threads dealing with visits. I only visit in the federal system so i cannot offer any advice. I am looking forward to getting to know you and reading your posts. good luck and god bless.

Tibia,

Yes as flygirl advised you - go and look at the forum for general information on visiting. You may also want to post questions in the forums for Florida and Arizona - but be sure to list the name of the Prison that you are interested in.

I believe that there are many 'rules' that are general such as dress code and physical contact but even these rules depend on the security level of the prison.

Because the rules may be VERY different between Florida and Arizona and also between Death Row and not Death Row, my best advice is to write each Prisoner and ask them to send you the most up to date visitation rules. In most prisons it is the Prisoner's responsibility to supply the rules to you.

Good luck and if you have more questions don't hesitate to ask!

Oh, and Welcome to PTO! Happy 2003!

HI Tibia, most of the visiting rules differ so much from State to State. You can find some information on Florida by clicking on this link. (http://www.dc.state.fl.us/facilities/info/visit.html) Once that page opens, you can check out their Frequently Asked Questions, they also have an email address there that you can contact them if you have a more specific question. The rules for Arizona will be slightly different, but if you go to a search engine {www.yahoo.com or www.google.com] and type 'Arizona Department of Corrections' in the search form, you'll get pointed in the right direction.

all the best

Tibia,

There's no link to a European PTO, but since we're many European on PTO, there's a Europe forum that you can find on the home page of PTO. It's just under the Canada forum, and above the American regional forums.

Phil
