Whats up guys. Well, tommorow morning I will be heading to Spectrum Health Systems in-patient treatment center in West Borough MA. I am heading there because I got myself into some Federal trouble regarding drugs. I have not used drugs in over a month now, so I will not be sent to the detox, but right into the residential area. Anyway, my question is, what is a typical day in here? Do you get free time, things like that. What exactly goes on for the 3 months that I will probably be here? I never had a drug problem, for the most part I used socially. Every other weekend, etc. Not saying every other weekend socially isnt a problem, but there was never a physical addiction. Ok, thats about it.

Thanks in advance guys!

Noone--
I dont have any idea about the facility you are going to however I do work in detox/substance abuse/ mental health facility. So I am assuming this is not prison so I can say its gotta be better than were most of our loved ones are. Be strong 90 days will be a breeze. Good luck and contact us when you get back and let us know whats going on.

i have no idea about what the place is like where you are going, except to say that it's a whole lot better than any other alternative out there. You stated, "I never had a drug problem" and just in the previous sentance, you said, "I got myself into some Federal trouble regarding drugs." Isn't Federal trouble regarding drugs a drug problem???? or am I just really really dense. isn't that kind of like being "a little bit pregnant?"

Any use of drugs is a drug problem...and the first thing you'll be facing while inpatient is your denial of your problem.

Accepting responsibility is half the battle. Good luck.

If you use drugs AND you have negative consequences, you have a drug problem. PERIOD.

In fact, I don't believe that "social users" use METH, CRACK, HEROIN, etc. They may drink socially, at weddings, friday night happy hours after work, but I don't believe in social users of ILLICIT DRUGS. How many weddings have you been to where they were CHEERING with a crack pipe or a rig?

If someone's using drugs, they have a drug problem. They may not have one that's causing negative consequences YET, but you use long enough you will.

You are in DENIAL if you have federal charges and don't think you have a problem. Also going to treatment to evade trouble, may help your trouble, but it won't your drug problem.

Someone said at a meeting the other day - the only way you will stay clean is if you do it for yourself (and I don't mean to beat a case) AND you can envision yourself clean and sober for all the days of your life.
