Rumours are flying that the program will be shortened. (Currently, from what i understand it's 4 12-week sessions with 2 week breaks inbetween, which totals 54 weeks).

Can anyone confirm that it's being shortened?

Thanks!!!!!

My husband has told me that it's going to now be a six month program. They are combining the RSVP program and the Substance Abuse program this fall. I'll let you know if I find out anything else.

Oh, that would be great!! My husband is on waiting list and can come home as soon as he completes the program!! Last i heard he may get into the program in December. One guy who's in told me there are empty beds. I'm wondering if i'll ruffle feathers by asking if my husband can have a bed.

Please let me know if you hear anything more! Feel free to send me a private message.

We called RSVP yesterday to ask if program is being cut and they were SO creepy. They said, "if you are involved with someone who is going to take the program, THEY will be notified with what THEY need to know WHEN they need to know it, so it won't do u any good to call us."

You'd think they'd want to be NICE to the inmates support system on the outside. instead they constantly treat me like crap for knowingly marrying anyone who would commit such a crime.

I know how you feel. It doesn't do any good to try to talk to someone with the penal system. From what my husband tells me they are combining the RSVP and the SATP programs this fall into one program that will be a six month program. He will complete the SATP program on the 18th and they want him to train to be a peer guide but I don't think he's going to do it since it would cut him from trying to get on work release.
I'll let you know if I hear anything else about the RSVP program.

It's guilt by association. If you are associated with "these people" then you must be guilty of something.

My BF was there for several years. It is like most units it has it good and it's bad. Visits were uaually pretty laid back. You can walk around together and talk.He can go to vending machines with you, unlike some places that don't allow that. The food is microwavable stuff. And it goes pretty quickly so get it early for best choices. If you want to get in on time you have to be there early usually by 10 A.M or you get stuck in line for a while. They start checking in around 11:30 but by the time you get thru PBX in to visitation room, which is the Gym it is around noon.Visit is from 12-4.There are no doors on the stalls in the women's bathroom and when the entry door is opened people can see you.Any more questions let me know.Kitty
