Hello everyone! my name is Donna i live in Mass.. and i have been floating in and out of this forum for a while , but after this weekend i really wanted to share a positive experience that i had.. after 11 years of clean/sobriety time.. i went to a sober in the sun .. festival it was outdoors.. music, camping, workshops, meetings.. right on a lake.. it was AWESOME.. it was one of the best things i have done for my recovery I reccomend anyone who is going through a BORING tuff time.. to reach out and find some fun.. in sobriety.. it was like a 'SOBER WOODSTOCK" for real.. it was great.. I can not wait for the half moon festival in May.. :))) thanks for this forum..
Peace

Hello Jeni...
It was a awesome festival.. but next year i will camp in my own "area" we camped with people we really didn't know so well.. and it was not want i expected.. but it was still kool.
How did i get sober?? you ask.. wow.. hmmmm
It was like chewing nails.. !! ::O) having sos pads run up and down my skin..
I got sober and clean because i lost my self.. and hit a bottom.. i ended up in detox than a homeless shelter/program in 1991.
Thanks for the welcome..
Peace
Donna

I am so glad that you had such a good time...11 years huh, that is wonderful. Isn't being sober a wonderful feeling. The best thing is knowing that you can go through the experiences we are and not drinking or drugin anymore. For that not to be an option anymore I am so grateful. Also grateful to have someone like you in here also. Love Ya a friend of Bill W's also. Just celebrated 8yrs..So congratulations. Love Jeanne
