I would like all the info I can get on the PB work release. My husband will be 30 months short Jan. 10th. Once you file for w/r how long does it normally take to get there. And after 90 days do you really get your furlough or is there a set off date? What places can they work at? What kind of pay do they make? Can they send money home? Can you go eat lunch with them when they are at work? Any info would be appericated

I know a little about work release because my fiance has filed an application for Texarkana work release (almost 4 weeks ago) and I"ve gotten lots of information over the past few months. I don't know how long it normally takes for them to be accepted, but I think it can take anywhere from a month to three months. And I know they have to be in regional maintenance before they're actually in the work release program, and I've heard that they could be in the regional maintenance for 1-3 months, and then they're eligible for their furlough in 90 days from the start of when they're actually in the work release program. There are different job opportunities depending on which work release place they're at. Not sure about the pay, but I've heard it's not bad. And, I know a portion of their pay goes to ADC for housing and such, a portion they have to put in a savings account, and the other portion is theirs. I know you're not supposed to go eat lunch with them at work, but I've heard some people do. It depends on if you want to take the risk or not. This is only what I know from different people telling me and my fiance who have actually been in work release, but I don't know from first hand experience ----- but hopefully I will soon!!!

I don't know if this website will be helpful or not. You probably already know all this information, but here's some of the stuff in writing:
