My fiance just called and said that he is at the Pope County 309. He said it is absolutely terrible there. They are MORE strict than Tucker. He hates it so much, he is willing to get a discplinary and lose everything to go back to Tucker.

We have a wedding date of Oct 28 and he is eligible for his first furlough in Feb. Everything is in jeopardy now!

Please, please, please can someone give me some good/encouraging news about this place? I'll be visiting him this Saturday and we will discuss what we are going to do.

If anyone has any information about the Pope County 309, please let me know.

I will tell you what I know about the 309 my husband was at. At frist it was BAD! Then as time went by they began to trust him more and more and the good stuff started to happen. Tell him not to give up just yet. Yall need to sit down and weigh the pros and cons (ex. the visits and the phone calls). As far as his furlough, let me fill you in a little on that. No matter what he does and what you do, he will NOT get it after hes been there a year. All the rules and regs say that after 12 months of being a 1B you are eligabile of a furlough. But he will not get it. After hes been there for 1 1/2 years he will get it then. The first time he files he will get a 6 month set off but 6 months later he WILL get it. Just tell him to hang in there, it will get better plus it will make things easier on you. And making things easier on you should be his first priority. Oh my God, I just read this thread for the first time and my fiance just put in an application to Pope county on Monday! Please, please, please give me any information on it. Doesn't look as promising as I thought! How was visitation??? Are you for sure on the furlough in February? Any info that you've found out would be great!!

Alright, ladies, let me give you some info on Pope Co. I've been on both sides. The 309 Program here isn't that bad. There is more that are far worse. As far as the strictness, as long as you are good with the jailers, the jailers are great with you. The Furlough question, I've saw some make it on the first time, I've saw others that didn't make it until the 3rd or 4th.
