Third in 3 months. In a medium security State prison in Florence, AZ.

Another inmate was beaten so severely on Christmas Day he was hospitalized.

As soon as he recovers (what they think is enough) he will be transported to Central Unit for interrogation. Which is were they were taking him to begin with for unknown reasons. He is one of the cleanest guys on the yard, but extremely smart.
For details email me and I will send letters from 2 inmates who have horror stores to tell about beatings and inhumane treatment in segregation and interrogation. Pages and pages long. For any one willing to take this on, names and places have been documented.

There is another beat down going on right now. The person was transported to
CB-6 on Christmas Day (after his stay in the hospital for the brutal beating
he received). He will be there for several months with beatings on going.
Please write him for details at
Anthony Musa #115753
ASPC Florence
Unit East
PO Box 5000
Florence, AZ 85232
If letters are received, as they read all of them, there is a chance the
beatings will lighten up. We know they wont stop at this point.

One of there favorite tricks in CB-6 is to handcuff an injured inmate, place
him on a gurney take 4 steps, drop the gurney, take 4 more steps, drop the
gurney, etc., etc.

One of the letters sent out last week (the first one) is from an Inmate who
would like a letter from anyone who is willing to try to help the situation,
ACLU and from the gentleman requesting inclusion in his book. Please write
him at

Thank you for your help in lessening abuse in Florence.

Thanks for posting this Ken, my friend was at Florence, and was transferred to Maricopa in Douglas. I cannot believe the treatment that is going on there, this is horrible.

You know, prison is meant to be fun.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Did you mean this as a tongue-in-cheek statement? Or did you mean to say "prison is not meant to be fun"?

I mean what I said. They were locked away for a reason.

Has anyone taken this to Middle Ground? I don't know how one would help out this situation. You know the saying that the staff believes they were sent there for punishment rather than as punishment. I know of many smaller incidents, like a guy left with an untreated broken leg for 3 days before medical would see him.... but not such severe beatings... My husband is in Eyman which is a medium security yard also in Florence. You can email/pm me if you think I can help in any way.

KConnor - If I can, I'd like to read those letters. Jason got really sick at 3:00 this morning and called for medical. Apparently the guy working medical was sleeping. Luckilly my baby was only having a really bad stomach ache. He's down at Eyman in Florence. East unit is only 5 mins away from him, if that. Please email the letters to me if possible.
Thanks,

I haven't been following news about tent cities in Florence AZ. I noticed an address of a tent, in Florence, on the Oct birthday list. I look at the AZ forum for info. Ken, all, if there are men being beaten, if you put the information in the shout box, I promise I'll write the warden, all the places listed to write. I must admit I enjoy reading 'boyfriend' stories, but I'm definitely willing to let us be heard about inhumane treatment of inmates. I think about the people torturing inmates meeting their maker at their death, but I would like to make things better for the inmates NOW.

My man did time in florence and he taped a average day in there and sent it out to me - it sounded like a freaking zoo,so noisy,so much profanity, screaming and yelling and it wasnt the inmates but the guards...............

Now I understand what my daughter said when she told me that she was at least grateful to be in a decent FEDERAL prison - less likelyhood of all this crap going on! But then isn't Pelican Bay Federal? It seems it can happen anywhere but it must NOT! I only got in tonight to give good news from my end, I have my daughter's release date, the Authorization to Receive Package form (so I can send her those exact items to be able to wear out upon her release 2/13/04!!!). She will be at a halfway house a few days - also in Florence - so this forum showed up on my search. It would seem that with the current inmate take over at the other state prison south of Phoenix that media would be interested in this??? Channel FOX 10 has been running stories all day. I'll think on other ideas and post any I come up with! I absolutely hate cruelity to any living thing!

I posted a thread recently about changing the horrible treatment of inmates in our prison system. I wanted everyone to get together and try to get some docmentation from thier loved ones about incidences that they've seen and endured. I didn't get much response, maybe it was my approach :(.
Yes, I would take this on. Email me. What do you prepose we do about this? It's outragious. Now is the time to try and change the system for the better because it is already in the spotlight with riots and overcrowding issues, not to mention elections are comming up. We CAN do something about this, we just have to make our voices heard.
