There are not very many European countries that are applicable for that "Greencard Lottery" :( Germany is one of them that isnt.

Indeed I do remember once reading about a German lady who moved to the US to be closer to her loved one on DR. She opened a guesthouse near Huntsville if I remember correctly especially for family and friends of prisoners.
Not sure of the names though so I cannot give you details, maybe someone else knows??

Where did you find that ??? If you click on the list of eligible countries list link, you will see that Germany is one of them.
Here is the list of NON eligible countries in Europe. (That is THEIR list, NOT mine, I don't know where they found out that Anguilla, Bermuda, Cayman Islands etc were in Europe !!! )
Anguilla Bermuda Falkland Islands (Malvinas)
United Kingdom Gibraltar Cayman Islands
Montserrat Pitcairn Russian Federation
Saint Helena Turks and Caicos Islands Virgin Islands, British

Germany is definite eligible for the lottery. I know that for sure because I was reading a lot about this subject the past days.

I want to move to the U.S in a couple of years. I live in Norway, and I believe the rules are basically the same for all European countries. I have been reading up and down about the different visas and it is all spinning in my head. But I will start college here next year, and I have to find out which colleges in Oklahoma will accept me as a transfer student. I then have to apply to the college and once accepted I can go about applying for my student visa. It's a mess and a lot of paper work, but for me the easiest way. And also - I want and need my nurse degree. By the time I am educated and I still want to live there I can apply for a work visa as a nurse, because the U.S need nurses I know. Or if I marry my boyfriend we can apply for a fiance visa when that time comes. If you can't do any of these you need to either have a lot of money so you can invest in the U.S or find a job that will apply for a green card for you. There isn't an easy way to move to another country, but good luck to you! It is far from impossible, it is just difficult to find the way.

Thanks for your answer. Well, unfortunately I do not have the possibilities you have, but Iīm searching for a solution. I guess when you will become a nurse you will really have a good chance to get a job in the US. When I was younger I always wanted to become a nurse, but unfortunately my life wasenīt easy and so I couldnīt make that happen.
At the moment I have plans to do something self employed but I first have to wait if this is really possible for me( financial part isenīt easy......). Well, I will see.
