Hello and welcome to PTO! Glad you found us!

I think that rape and violence in a camp level federal facility is relatively rare. Even at the FCI's I think it is pretty rare.

It is my understanding that a few days or so before sentencing the AUSA will send a letter to your attorney detailing how much of a departure he or she is going to recommend.

We have a great federal forum and there will be people who come along and will answer your questions, or at least point you in the right direction!!

I sent you a private message about some things. But in general its good to keep in mind that if you dont have a violent history, and the offense wasnt violent in nature, and your criminal history isnt extensive, you have a better chance of ending up somewhere with a lower security classification and a less stressed (read violent) environment. Even if there is a firearm enhancement to your charge/s, it doesnt preclude you from going somewhere safer. Talk to folks here, they can give you accurate advice. And talk to your lawyer about your concerns about prison placement. My public defender had good info for me. As for the "snitch" deal, I don't know much about it, but I have heard that it can come after your already serving time. I think it depends on what they want from you, and when they want it. Anyone?

Good Luck Aaron7660! You mightl be surprised how may young men you will be in with for the very same thing. Many others will follow and add great advice......keep a low profile, be respectful, follow the rules, stay busy and focused on making each day---each day is a day closer to home is what I tell my 27 yr old son every week.
Hang in there. Tessa
