How much testing is done? How often do they get tested and is it just random, or do they test only when inmate is acting suspicious or high? I suppose it's different in each state anyway. I'm in SC. Here if inmate tests positive they send him to Level 3, which is where the violent offenders are housed. If already in Level 3, I believe they just put them in the "hole" or solitary lock-down.
Anyway, I just cannot understand how so much drug abuse is going on behind the walls. If they happen to NOT be an Addict when sent to prison...they most probably become one! I think they don't drug test often enough, they just over-look it. Then again it would just cost too much...and SCDC is supposedly bankrupt anyway.

You know, when my boyfriend was inside, and he is a recovering heroin addict- I don't remember him telling me about ever being drug tested! I will ask him tonight cuz I am very curious about this too. Is it just at higher levels that they test? This is a very good question!
