Hello Everyone
I am looking for some info. My fiancee was just transfered to Susanville. He is serving 5 years, since he was transferred to Susanville does that mean he gets a chance to go to fire camp?
I am going to go visit him in 2 weeks but I am afraid that it will be behind glass like it was at reception.. it's a long way from Los Angeles and I would be so dissapointed.
If anyone has visited someone there can you tell me what to expect and any advice

I cannot directly answer your question as I don't know the facility... Don't hesitate to call Susanville and ask the visiting rules and if it is a contact or non contact visit... This may answer some questions. But, they may well tell you that it is the Prisoners responsibility to tell you that. It can never hurt to make an inquiry...

Karen, I know someone else here goes to Susanville, cannot for the life of me think of the name (it's still far too early for me, I don't function until around noon) but we will be able to get your questions answered!

My husband was at Susanville before going to fire camp. Your boyfriend should be eligible for camp, it can just take a while to get there. The visiting is not behind glass, the only thing I would suggest is that you know the visiting rules, such as dress code, what items are allowable to bring in, etc. as they're very strick about them and also to call visiting information, they have a pre recorded message.
