I'm starting to get the worst hairspray build up on my bangs and I hate it! I've tried gazillions of shampoos but nothing seems to get rid of it completely! Does anyone have any at-home remedies to fix this stuff? It's so annoying!

i use that Netroguna T gel stuff or there Clear shampoo rinse once a week and it gets rid of a lot of build up. Dont use it too often or it will dry out your hair

mix baking soda with regular shampoo and wash like normal. works great--do it every couple of days.

Rosemary works wonders.

Take one "branch" from a bunch of rosemary, put it into a pot with about 2 cups of boiling water (off the stove). Let it "steep" for about 10 minutes. Drain and cool (you can make it ahead of time and keep it in a tightly closed clean jar). I made about an 8 cup bottle for the entire month.

Then just pour the liquid over your hair (making sure to saturate the bang area). Leave it on while you shower, then wash your hair as you normally would. I do this once a week and it leaves my hair shiny, healthy and without any build up at all. Rosemary is also fantastic as an after washing rinse if you have frizzies as it smooths the hair cuticle.

Fantastic stuff. Pretty inexpensive. You only use one "branch" out of the bunch. You can buy it for about 1.49 for 7-8 branches. I grow my own which is even cheaper.

Hope this helps.

If your average shampoos that are meant for cleaning out product build up are not working; shampoo aimed at color treated hair would normally have such agents or Infusium hair restoring shampoo. I would recommend that you go into a salon and get a professional detoxifying shampoo treatment. These treatments are usually fairly reasonably priced and are actually good for any one to do every once and awhile, since everyone's hair is exposed to pollution and products all the time.

I've tried the recommended shampoos at salons... They help somewhat but theres still some noticeable build-up. Hopefully the other suggestions will work... Thanks!

Try Bumble and Bumble "Sunday shampoo".. it's a clarifying shampoo to get rid of all the gunk you have used in your hair all week.. it's GREAT!!

listerine mouthwash; kills dandruff as well; pretty cool old military trick learned from my dad he says it will kill athleates feet as well but burns on the raw feet; as a hair wash just pour in let sit 2 or 3 min wash with shampoo and condition as you normally would

The baking soda is a quick and easy way.It really works. They use it in salons and just don't tell you!!!Also cheap!! Just follow up with a conditioner.Rave hairspray is the worst you can use!!!!! Holds good, but builds up quick.just thought I would pass that along.
