1sassysistah 09-01-2004, 07:59 PM Now I wonder why she choose not to go further with the criminal case -- but chooses to persue the federal civil case??? Hmmmmmmmmmm makes me wonder as I scratch my head. $$$$$
Now I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure this one out!!
Well whatever the case maybe I am happy for Kobe and his beautiful wife and family.
Go Kobe -- Go Kobe -- Go Kobe -- Go Kobe
Willsgirl 09-01-2004, 08:05 PM She is sending the message that she only wants money from him.
This is great..... It goes to show that if you have enough $ and can hire really top notch attorneys they can do a good job and get these kind of things done if you're innocent... I'm so glad he wasnt railroaded as many of our loved ones have been... He and his wife and family have been thru enough as so many of us but won't have to go further down this road now...

BillysAngel 09-01-2004, 08:50 PM You bet your booty it was all about the Benjamin$ for her and that prosecutor only wanted to make a name for himself. It came out today that yesterday there was a leak to the press that she performed a "sex act" on him PRIOR to them having sex. I am so happy he is cleared!!! He did not rape that girl!! I do not agree in him committing adultery but that is between him and his wife, not the media, not the courts. All she wanted was money and she won't get it. He said yesterday to a friend that she will not get one dime! I agree!! I am just so happy it's over and he can play ball and fix his marriage first and foremost. I wish them the best of everything!!!

penwife 09-01-2004, 09:24 PM I stil l wish he could of cleared his name and hopefully if the accuser does sue him everything will come out and he can be declared innocent.
haswtch 09-01-2004, 09:38 PM The burden of proof in a civil case is different isn't it? I agree, this case had a bad smell to it from the git-go. I don't care about him personally either way but I'm glad they decided to drop it. It was all about $$$ and headlines.
MsChiku 09-01-2004, 09:50 PM :yay: :yay: :yay: Hip Hip Hooray!!! Let's pray that the Civil pursuit is squashed too...the truth has set Kobe free...This was a hard lesson for Kobe..."We fall down but we get back up..."
penwife 09-01-2004, 10:00 PM Yes haswtch ...in a civil case the burden of proof is less than a criminal one. I think that she is hoping for a settlement because she won't have to get dragged thru the mud and she'll still get money.

Deb
You said it Deb... The key problem is how about all of those people who don't have the funds and the celebrity to back up justice.. Yeah.. Stuck out.
Still makes me mad as hell.
MiamiChica22 09-02-2004, 10:07 AM That girl was not raped. She got herself into a situation that she was not able to get herself out of. If she had been raped, there is no way in hell she would have allowed the criminal charges to be dropped against Kobe. I don't care if my name and face and prior sexual history was printed all over the media, I would forge ahead with the trial, holding my head high. But not her, running off with her tail between her legs. And that prosecutor...he looks like the fool that he is...rushing to judgment. Now, granted Kobe was stupid and hopefully he learned a valuable and very expensive lesson from this, don't step out on the wife. I am sure he is breathing easy today. And I hope that girl gets everything she deserves.
penwife 09-02-2004, 12:48 PM Can anyone tell me why she can't go thru the criminal trial but will be able to go forward with the civil trial? Has anyone heard anything about this?
Kobe16 09-02-2004, 04:17 PM YOU BETTA BELIEVE THAT TRICK DROPPED THE CASE!! Boy, she made me soo mad! Now she know good and well she wasnt raped! MUST BE THA MONEY!
