Normally, when I speak of the FLDOC my mood is not the best :angry:. I am sure that almost all of you in the Florida Forum could agree with me. :thumbsup: Today, I had a shocking experience. I had no intentions of calling my boyfriend's prison, but since I will be evacuating soon I wanted to see if the Chaplain would relay a message to him. :p This may seem strange to some, but whenever you want to contact your love one try the chaplain first, at least the one where he is has been great to both of us, as far as getting messages.

When my guy was placed in lockdown he checked on him, when we had a death in the family he gave him the message. So since I knew I wouldn't be talking with him until Friday (which would be too late, thanks to good ole' Hurricane Frances) :blah: I thought maybe Chaplain K would help me out again. :) All I can say is he went above and beyond what he needed to do for me. He gave my boyfriend the message to call me early so we can talk before I leave since I have no idea when we will be able to talk again. :( Then he said do you mind if I say a prayer? He actually prayed for my family and I and blessed us through this Hurricane. Today, I felt truly blessed, and I guess this was the first true and positive experience that I have seen from behind the walls. I never thought they could exist, but he just made me believe that sometimes there can be a good outcome. Thanks for listening. And once again everyone in Florida take care and stay safe. Kellie

kellie that is awesome of the Chap!! I know there have been one or two times when i REALLY needed to touch base with my honey and he did that for me. Sometimes if they are in the chapel at the time of your call he will even put him on the phone (hint, hint ;) ) I'm really happy for you, i know what we deal with on a daily basis with FL DOC!
