My father has asked me not to put my return address on my letters to him. I stopped, but later read that letters must have this. He has been getting my letters. So I'm wondering why did he ask me not to and I guess it's OK? Should I start again, less he miss a letter?

I know some places mail won't get through w/o a return addy but I'm not sure if that is the case for all prisons.I'm sure he doesn't want your addy getting in the wrong hands wich is understandable.Can you get a PO Box? That is what I did,its pretty reasonable I think $60 a year

I'd put it on there just in case. What's his reasoning for not wanting it on there? I send my penpals post cards all the time and I even put it on there...just to ensure it gets through.

At HDSP, you need a return addy, but my sweetheart tears it off of all my letters to him. I guess it's common for some inmates to make trouble if they get their hands on someones return address.

I have had my address passed on, but I think my ex-penpal gave it to him willingly. A couple of my penpals rip off the return address, rip it up, and flush it. Too sweet! :)

Cindi-lu is right. My man would rip off the return addy when I did put it on the envelopes so other inmates couldnt get it. I love that protectiveness about him. Anyway, I am in Cali and I never put my return addy on there. If he is getting the letters then I would keep doing what you are doing. If not then put it on there.

Thanks.That had crossed my mind. I guess if someone had a beef with him....he's not the most popular guy in jail and has made quite a few enemies. Not like he cares....

This is exactly what my man does and perhaps is the reason your father requested you not to put it on the letters. My guy destroys all addresses from all of the letters he receives...memorizes them. Let us know how it goes for ya...
