We now know EXACTLY what is going to happen with Kenny. His reconsideration hearing is Feb 7th. His parole officer is going to ask for him to be re-paroled immediately. The stipulations will be that he must be on the bracelet for 90-120 days, his license will remain revoked, he must enroll in outpatient rehab, he must find work in 3 weeks and he is not allowed in Hillsborough county...at all. He ran this by the head of the parole board who is more than willing to go along with this. It will be also stated that he has a chance to get custody of his son, and his father is going to have a paper notorized that states this. Also, it will be brought up that my mother recently was hospitalized (the prison has record of it) and that I have to care for her and need help.
The bracelet will cost us $140, plus $20/wk supervision. It requires a bare phone line, and that will be in place on Monday. However, our apt is in the basement, and he will not be able to go into the front yard. His PO is going to try and fix that though. It is also the type that uses a breathalyzer, which he will have to do several times a day. We felt this would ease his transition from a locked facility to being back on the street.
His license was already revoked for nonpayment of a ticket. I asked that it remain so because of him being a flight risk. PO agreed whole heartedly with it. Kenny's not happy about it, but everyone else loves the idea. After cracking up one car drunk, taking off for days, etc, I don't think that's very harsh.
So, if all goes well, he will be home either the 7th, 8th or 11th.
