Your best bet is to call the prison and ask, every prison is different and you don't want to take the chance of being turned away.
Have a great visit!!!!!!

Prisons have different rules, but if you are new and don't know what goes on, they'll let you slide just one time. The prison Billy is in, we have liberal contact. They don't say anything unless you get too hot and heavy. :) They let the inmates hold their children and such. We can only bring diapers, wipes, bottles, and a blanket for the babies. Money has to be in a clear container, nothing in the pockets.
That's here in a federal prison in WV. The rules are probably different where you are. You should call before you go just to make sure of the rules.
Enjoy your visit.... :)

The federal prisons here in Texas are the same way.
Jennifer, most prisons don't have a problem with you bringing kids and the fathers hold and even playing with them a bit. Do you know you will be allowed a contact visit? Sometimes they don't allow these right off the bat but every prison in every prison system varies a bit..
Best bet is to call like Daveswife said.. They can give you all the particulars. Worst experience is to be turned away.. Especially on the first visit..
Have a good one and let us know how it goes!

You need to take the advice and call the prison. they will give you the most helpful info.. then after you call them then voice your concerns to us and then we can help you more when we have more info on that state..
