View Full Version : Ideas to include with letters
ozziegirl 08-24-2004, 11:41 PM Thought it might be fun to see what ideas we can all come up with to include with our letters. I came up with a cute idea that my man loved. We dont get to see each other so I took a copy of my hand print...he has it on the wall beside his bed so he can put his hand to mine......can either photo copy or scan.
kreepsgirl 08-25-2004, 12:55 AM I send pics, love coupons, poems, stories off of pillowmail.com, personalized word searches, news articles, articles about his favorite sports teams.

Jen661 08-25-2004, 04:46 PM I GOT A DIGITAL CAMERA AND JUST A REGULAR OLD COLOR PRINTER SO I WALK AROUND THE HOUSE AND TAKE PICUTRES OF EVERYTHING! IF I GO OUT I TAKE PICTURES WHERE EVER I GO. I JUST USE THEM AS LETTER HEAD WHEN I WRITE HIM SO THEY DON'T COUNT AS PICTURES. HE REALLY LIKE THAT! IT MAKES HIM FEEL HE IS WITH ME ALL THE TIME! :D
ozziegirl 08-25-2004, 05:08 PM Thx for all the imput so far, great ideas and links. I think its great to see what others do to help give us all ideas for something different we each may not of thought of. I often print pics of me out as a background on the pages. Bring the pic to word program first then use the picture editing to fade it out and then enlarge it to fit page then print. Im looking straight at him then as he's reading my letter.
mrsford 08-25-2004, 05:35 PM I use my digital camera for everything! I too make stationary from it. I print pictures on the envelopes I send his letters in, I take pictures all over our neighborhood so he can see any changes and the flowers we always enjoy. I like the handprint idea. I am going to send one and ask him to send one to me. One of my husband's friends who he thinks of as a son sent him a tic tac toe board with an X on it. They send it back and forth to play a game. I thought that was a good idea! I print search and find puzzles I make from www.puzzles.com (http://www.puzzles.com) and send them to him. All kinds of stuff on the internet. I just sent him the football schedule for his team, the roster for the team, and a copy of the new NFL rules. He loved it!
Dre's Lady 08-25-2004, 05:46 PM I have my little brother take pictures of me doing "odd" things. LOL

dazzler 08-25-2004, 08:27 PM My guy traced his hand and his ^@#$$% and said "here's some toys to play with while I'm gone" :) It was on the back of a letter and for the longest time I didn't see it...too cute.
mrsford 08-25-2004, 10:05 PM tatalacubana, go to www.puzzlemaker.com (http://www.puzzlemaker.com) and go to the puzzle section. Click on search and find, and it will take you to the personalized puzzles. I make them for the holiday, his birthday, I love you, your dog loves you, the grandkids love you, etc. You can even write sexy little messages he can find one word at a time! Good luck!

ozziegirl 08-26-2004, 03:36 AM Thanks for the links. Have checked most of them out already :) In process of making a quizz for him.
Other ideas:
Remember as a child and you would fold paper up so as when you cut out a shape and then opened it up there would be heaps of that shape all linked together. I did that with hearts and wrote love quotes or little msgs for him on each one and colored each in a bright color. Corny but he loves them. I sent him string of rabbits for easter lol Im going backwards in age I think. Also if your man happens to be not writing you as much as you would like.....why not write a letter for him and leave gaps for him to fill in or sentences to finish. Its something different and novel too.
Keltria 08-26-2004, 12:20 PM We are busy writing a story together, we each do a chapter and i type it up and add it on and send it back. In the book i am Airtlek (Keltria backwards) he is Nevets (Steven backwards). It is a fantasy and even my kids are in it as heros. Who knows it may even be a best seller one day. My kids even write and add to it. All the main characters names are backwards. We even have a horse in it called Attej - which is a car called a Jetta. It's really a lot of fun. it is 8 chapters long now. I hope i get rescued from the evil Nailliv soon.....
richie'sgirl 08-26-2004, 01:23 PM Whenever I am decorating,I send in brochures and ask for an opinion on paint colours etc and if I am buying a new piece of furniture,I take a photo of what I already have in the room and then send pictures of the pieces I have narrowed it down to and ask for his opinion on that too.
I tear stories out of my magazines and send them in to him and for anyone wanting to send in several magazine subscriptions, but don't have loads of money to spare, you can use magazinecity.com,if your order is over a certain amount, they let you split it over 3 monthly payments. So I was able to take out 6 subscriptions in one go,he won't know what has hit him when he gets back from the county.
chinikfb 09-16-2004, 08:19 PM Peace...Thanks for all of the suggestions. I have sent loads of articles, mainly political stuff. Once I sent him a "how to fight" article; he hollered! Its all good. Blessings...
MissM 09-28-2004, 06:07 PM I sent him rose petals today. I put them in a ziplock bag and stacked books on top before I sealed it so it wouldn't have any air. Then I sealed it between two sheets of paper with tape all around and put a flat bow on it like a present. I hope they are still fragrant when he opens them.
swtmel 09-28-2004, 06:25 PM I have done all of these things, and even had my man send me an outline of his, you know what it is, and hand. Just last week he MADE me a dozen roses that I actually have in a vase next to my bed. He made them out of toilet paper, go figure. I like these ideas and will be doing them shortly. :):) Thanks again!
