Hi I am new here so I hope I am doing this right I havent visited my "friend" in a long time I was approved at salinas valley about 4-5 years ago. I heard if you drive over 250 miles and the inmate hasnt had a visit in 6 months they will approve you at the gate I already had booked the room and taken off work it is a 5 hour drive I thought i would still be approved from before but I heard sometime it is not the case I will be heartbroken if I dont get to visit any ideas? Thanks

They will usually only make exeptions for immediate family members. Friends and other relatives don't have that privelege. So the best thing to do is call them and ask them if you're still in the computer as an approved visitor. My in-laws came to visit for the first time in about 10 years, and they were still in their files. So they just updated their info while they were being processed. They did get to visit!:) That was in Mule Creek, about 2 weeks ago.
So my guess is you have a better than good chance of getting that visit!:D
Good Luck!
