My husband is still waiting in county jail. However, he does now have a Pe?TE date of 1-05-05. What does that mean? It has something to do with parole? If so, does it help that it was a non violent, non drug offense? And where does the time go that he is spending in county waiting to be transported? This process is incredibly slow. I assumed that you appeared in court, if guilty you were taken away to prison right from court. Not the case it seems. What an education I'm getting.

DOC will calculate the time your loved one will have to serve. His first parole eligiblity date will be 1-5-05. (they usually include the time already/serving in jail waiting for prison). But with the emergency powers act, if the prisons are overcrowded (which they usually are) the first time, non violent offenders can be released up to 90 days earlier than their parole date.
He doesn't have much longer to serve. I know it is hard on everyone, but tell him to keep his nose clean and stay away from trouble and that will give him that much of a better chance of coming home sooner.
Good Luck!!!

If he is considered for the Emergency Act, 90 early release before parole date? It that is the case, and he is still in county jail waiting to go, Wouldn't that mean by the time he gets to diagnostic they could possible parole him? and does he have to be paroled in arkansas? we are from new orleans and have always lived here.

My husband has been in county jail for a month and a half waiting to go to a prison. What is the longest you know that a person has waited in county jail? I'm afraid to ask.
Thanks

I know people that never went to prison. It just depends on how much time that you have to serve.
