Hi. I new here. Believe it or not I heard of this site from one of our ladies in Basile, LA. Not Lower Alabama. LOUISIANA! Yes, we still have ladies over there. Over 130 and probably about to send up to 50 more to relieve the overcrowding at Tutwiler. There has to be another solution.

I was there with them. I came home in October, 2003. I spent 5 years on the inside. My husband is still inside. I was able to visit him at Limestone, but he has been moved twice since I have been home. I have been approved to visit again. My first visit is tomorrow:)! I haven't seen him since Feb. 14.

If anyone needs info about Tutwiler, EMC/annex, or Louisiana, I'll be glad to help in any way I can. There are some wonderful people inside.

It is great 2bfreee:yay:

Welcome let me be the first to Welcome you to PTO and the Alabama Site. Congrats on your freedom ToBeFree!!!!! My Daughter is at Tutweiler since April 03 and was just turned down for parole and numerous WR requests. She has been in the system since 2000 after giving birth to her 4th child, which I have been raising. I dread every day since they denied her parole that I will get a phone call saying they are going to send her to LA. Not sure if they differentiate between the ladies in main pop or those in the Annex. Its kinda like your name is in the hat and they might draw it or not.
Glad to have you on board and I know that you will be of great help to those of us who need info on the female side of prison.
This is a great group of ladies here, some of the most compassionate ones I have ever had the pleasure to converse with. You will soon find yourself another family of support while you also await your husband coming home!

Hi there and welcome to PTO. Glad to hear your in "the free world". I'm sure you will be a big help to some that have loved ones in Tutwiler. My son was one of the inmates that was transferred to Mississippi. I can't complain about the staff there because they treated them a whole lot better than the system here, that's for sure.

Welcome and happy your finally home. My husband is at Limestone and it has been 5 long years with possibly 3 more to go. We're on our way to appeals court I hope. I know there are women on here that could really use some information re: the women's prison population.

Welcome again and hope things go well for you in the free world. We all have something in common here and it helps with all the support everyone gives.

God bless

Thanks, appreciate that. Yes home and praying for the day to come for him to come home. It's been a long hard road. I pray everyday for the Lord to step in and do something to bring our guys home that deserve to be home. That have paid their debt.
